The Producers New

Tuesday 20 - Saturday 24 October 2009

New Theatre Park Place Cardiff

'The Producers' - adapted by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan from Brooks' 1968 film of the same name, with lyrics by Brooks and music by Brooks and Glen Kelly.

It opened on April 19, 2001 and ran for 2,502 performances, winning a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards. It spawned a successful London production, running for three years, and a 2005 film.

This outrageous musical comedy hits the depths of bad taste - two theatrical producers scheme to get rich by overselling interests in a Broadway flop but the scam goes wrong when the worst musical ever made unexpectedly turns out to be succesful!
